GLADY C. YABUT
Bachelor in Elementary Education
Eulogio Amang Rodriquez Institute of Science and Technology
Graduated March 31, 2014
Dear Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.,
I am Glady C. Yabut, 19 years of age and a PAGA beneficiary. I am one of PAGA’s scholars. I am now a Degree holder, The Bachelor in Elementary Education. I graduated last March 31, 2104 as Cum laude and awarded as Academic Awardee of 2013.
I remembered when i first entered college bringing all the hope and faith that even though I don’t know what will happen on the next 3 years. My mother is a rag vendor and my father has no work during that time my sister the one who supported me with my study but that is not enough to sustain my four years in college. PAGA has supported me already with my tuition fee and school supply. On my second year in college I was surprised and grateful when they offered me of full scholarship where they provided me with full financial support with my tuition fee and miscellaneous, monthly allowance and school projects. The scholarship I received from PAGA given me the motivation to work hard and to do to my best.
PAGA has been my refuge in time of need. And not even once did PAGA fail or disappoint me. I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all the people of PAGA especially to the Board of Trustees and Staffs for your continuous support, guidance, compassion and trust. You have provided me growth opportunities and trusted in my abilities. Every seminar, training and youth camp of PAGA has contributed to my interpersonal skills. I have learned to be responsible, to be disciplined, and to interact and communicate effectively with different people. I am able to apply all these learning’s to school and to our church.
Above all, I would like to praise God for using PAGA as an instrument to help me and to continue to reach for my dreams. A million thanks for your dedication, trust and commitment in helping young people like me who have many dreams in life, dreams that will someday be a reality, dreams to help our family. I will never forget how PAGA helped and encouraged me to achieve my dreams. May our good God Bless PAGA! And again thank you very much.

A Step Back In Leaping To Victory
Many people yearn and try; most of them may persevere and move forward. Others succumb to despair and give up; some can be persistent enough to endure and keep pacing up. Anyone can be anyone, but only a few will become who they become. Education is considered as a gift of God; a blessing which all of us must be thankful about. Without education, learning would have been almost impossible, and without learning, progress is nothing. It is an opportunity we should recognize and highly regard as a priority.
Knowing the value and essence of education is a must – have, especially in this age where information is rampant and spontaneous, that education is taken for granted. As education is for a student who seeks it, I am fortunate and grateful to have recognized its value, for if not, I might be nothing at all now.
College is really a tricky one; it is a roller coaster ride disguised as a building of learning. Good thing I overcame the thrilling ride for it was an educational, experiential, and excellent one. I may say that I have accomplished one of the things in my bucket list: to finish my studies. Forever will I be thankful to God for continually giving me blessings, and to those who have
helped in checking an item in my bucket list, one of whom is PAGA. How can I forget the kindness and support PAGA offered when I needed it the most? I always believed in the power of kindness, and my belief led me to PAGA and becoming one of its beneficiaries and youth volunteers. PAGA has been an outlet of support and motivation for me in pacing through college, thanks to everyone who form part of it.
To PAGA President Frank Holz and the members of the Board of Trustees, my utmost gratitude and sincerest thanks are for you. You always say that I do a great job in hosting our past Christmas parties, but really it was you all who did a great job. I and the beneficiaries will not be here if not for your efforts and support; I do hope the same goes for the next generation of PAGA Members and beneficiaries. May you further the help you gave me and the others. To the lovely PAGA ladies Mrs. Deanna Bajar, Tita Mhel Echevarria, Tita Janette Corollo, and most especially to Tita Divine Lapitan, your kindness, openness, sincerity, and concern
proved to be and will continue to be an inspiration for me to achieve more. Your motivation did a lot in my college studies and your constant reaching out to me will be cherished. I have found another friend, teacher, aunt, and most especially, a mother in each of you. Thank you very much.
To my PAGA co-members especially the beneficiaries, please do not waste the opportunity PAGA is giving you for your studies. Learn to appreciate their concern and support as long as it is there for regret is not for you once it is gone. Hone your skills, strive for what’s good, better, or even the best, and always keep in mind that PAGA is after your betterment. PAGA will be fulfilled to see you become better and even the best you can be so be confident and responsible enough to finish your studies, just like what I did and what happened to me. More than just hosting Christmas Parties and doing great things with PAGA, I realized that I can never be alone just by thinking of PAGA. The experiences and values that PAGA accorded me helped me be who I am today, making it an undeniably extended family of mine. They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and as I take another step towards another mile of my life, I will always take a look and a step back to see PAGA as an inspiration and motivation before taking another leap towards victory. From the bottom of my heart and my innermost soul, thank you very much.
A proud beneficiary of the Philippine American Guardian Association.

JAMES RICHARD MARTIN
Bachelor of Science in Economics
Cavite State University – Main (Indang)
Graduated August 17, 2022
Dear Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.,
I’m James Richard Martin, 22 years old, graduate of BS Economics program at Cavite State University, PAGA Beneficiary and one of the Pioneering batch of K-12 program.
I would like to thank all the Board of Trustees, Executive Director and Social Workers who help me to finish my studies. I’m very thankful that I’m one of the recipient to be the beneficiary of PAGA. This organization is not just helping the beneficiaries, but also the family of the beneficiary as well.
I also thank my parents, Papa Homer and Mama Emely, for tireless support in helping not only me, but also my brothers, Kuya Michael and Matthew who are also PAGA beneficiaries since Elementary.
I just want to share my journey as a student, or should I say, Student-Leader. As an Iskolar ng bayan, it is very difficult to balance being a student and joining Academic Organizations within Cavite State University, especially when I entered my last year in College where I joined four Academic Organizations in one Academic Year. Yes, you read that right, four Academic Organizations in one Academic Year and take note, this is my last year in College. Especially since we still have a Thesis to attend to. So all the fatigue and hardships I went through were worth it and I almost became Cum Laude. I only missed by a few points and got a grades in some subjects below the maintaining grade to be a Latin honor but I’m still grateful that I’ve finished college. And my College journey has not ended here because I’m just getting started with my dream of becoming a full-fledged PhD-Lawyer.
My advice to the beneficiaries who wants is to be a student-leader is to take the risk in everything that happens to you so that you don’t regret it in the end but you must also be able to balance being a student-leader and a student. Try new opportunities as you see them and don’t limit yourself to one thing. Also explore the surroundings.
Thank you also for the opportunity given to me. Joining PAGA is one of the best experience I had.
God bless to all at mabuhay ang mga kabataang Ekonomista!
Padayon mga iskolar ng PAGA!

Dear Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.,
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity you have given me. I am very glad and thankful because I’ve finished my studies in college because of all the support from PAGA.
Until now, I couldn’t imagine that I had passed through all the challenges, mostly in my college days. For me, PAGA is my second family. Without PAGA, I wouldn’t be as successful as I am now. Because of PAGA I was able to overcome my weakness. PAGA also gives knowledge and inspiration to my parents.
I want to thank my whole family for always supporting me and not giving up on me. Thank you for the love and care. I’ll promise myself that I will do my best.
God, thank you for guiding me and giving safety to my family during the pandemic. And to all my friends in school that support me and help me, thank you. Also, to my friends in PAGA, I really enjoy our bonding in camping and activities. For me, those are the memories I will never forget
And again, thank you so much to the Board of Trustees, and the PAGA staff for never tiring of teaching us lessons and giving us advice that will help me in the future.

Dear Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.,
“Half-American”, when people usually hears those two words, they usually think that these are the people who are fortunate enough in life. That these are the people that can afford whatever they want to have in their life. Let’s put it in a simple way, they think that these are the people that do not face hindrances to achieve their dreams and has golden spoons on their mouth. But do they really know what it feels like to be a half-american?
Philippine American guardian association or PAGA. Is an institution that helps Filipino people that has a foreign blood. Not just financially but also, spiritually and emotionally. When we first attended the paga activity way back year 2015, I felt great because they gave us a warm welcome. They also asked information’s about us like what are our interest, hobbies and what is our dream or what are we planning to take in college. It’s just heartwarming because i felt like we belong on that group and i am so touched that someone shown interest on what do we want in life. That someone put an effort to know you even if it’s just a first meeting.
We also attended activities on PAGA. What i enjoyed most is the Christmas party celebration where i have a chance to show and share my talent with my co members on paga because i had the opportunity to perform in front of them. I also enjoy the yearly camping because i had the chance to bond with my co members and gain new friends. Not just that i am also refreshing my spiritual and emotional aspect because i can see the perspective of my co members in different age, i am also learning with their experiences and i hoped they learned from me also. Lastly, i enjoy celebrating 4th of July because we can do what we want during such fun party. In terms of education, it is a big help that they give school supplies for us yearly that it lessens the expenses on our education. It also helped me to think thoroughly

Dear Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.,
I hope you are all doing well. This may be my last letter to you. I AM ALREADY A DEGREE HOLDER! And that is because of you, who helped me, my family and my study until today. I know that we tackle a lot of problems but still we made it here. From the day that you found us we already know that we are very blessed. For the past almost 8 years we have been together, you never let me down. You always go extra miles to help with our needs, especially in my studies. I know that you can, and you will help more children in our country to be also a degree holder like me no matter what. I never thought that I would make it here, because of a lot of problems that came into my life, from financial, mental, social, family problems and more. I actually think of stopping in studying because of this mentioned problems, but whenever I think of you guys who help us, I am having this courage to say to myself that I can do this, I need to do this, I need to finish my study, my mindset is always like this, I need to finish my study because that is what I can pay back to you for all the help you gave. And here I am. The diploma and other documents aren’t yet released. Some say that it will be available maybe next year like the last batch. Once it is available I will send it to you. Many thank you is not enough to pay you for everything. But I will always say thank you. May God bless you all!! I can finally say.
I made it!!!!
Congratulations to you too, PAGA.

Dear Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.,
I am Jennyvie W. Duenog, A College Graduate student from Bulacan. I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude to PAGA for choosing me as one of the beneficiaries and for extending your hand to me; without it, I may not be able to continue and complete my study. I have been with PAGA for a very, very long time, since I was young to the point where I can’t even clearly remember the first day. however, I do remember how PAGA helped me take a step closer toward my dream. PAGA lessened my worry,
particularly during the pandemic. when I entered college, all of my classes were online, and we didn’t have internet access, so, I have to buy load. Fortunately, PAGA chose me to receive 1000php allowance every month, which was a big help because I could use it to buy load and it would help me attend my online classes everyday, but that wasn’t only thing that PAGA did, I also remember that every summer, we have a family bonding time where in PAGA invited all the parents and children to have fun in a Public swimming pool. Additionally, every summer vacation we have a youth camp that help students to learn while having good time. Lastly, I always looking forward attending free seminars, which are held to educate students and parents for a certain topic. I am very grateful to PAGA for providing me with free access to all of these, for allowing me to participate and letting me have amazing experience, and Thank you PAGA for the unwavering support of my career growth and general well-being. And For Ma’am Jill, Ma’am Phen, Ma’am Rory, and all the former social workers of PAGA, I am incredibly grateful for everyone. Thank you very much for always checking us up, for being patient with us, and for giving us your time and affection. I really appreciate it.
Thank you very much, Philippine American Guardian Association Inc.. bless you all!! I can finally say.
